These are a few important things to know about nanotechnology...

What is nanotechnology?
Nanotechnology is about really, really small things. Things that are too small to see. So small a thousand of them could fit across a hair.

What is a nanometer?
A nanometer is one-billionth (that is 1,000,000,000) of a meter. So a hair is 100,000 nanometers across.; That's really small.

How do you make things too small to see (part 1)?
To make things that are a few nanometers in size you need some pretty special tricks. One trick is something called photolithography.

How do you make things too small to see (part 2)?
Read more about photolithography and how scientists make things too small to see.
